Newzealand Scholarship 2016

Scholarship 32 positions to study in New Zealand for 2016 offering by NZAS, government officers and public. The scholarship is providing the following course:

  1. Postgraduate Diploma (i.e: Australian and New Zealand universities offer postgraduate diplomas (PostGradDip). A postgraduate diploma indicates master's-level studies. It typically constitutes as the first year of a two-year master's degree. A bachelor's degree is required, although in some rare cases an advanced diploma is sufficient.)

Program Assistant at Mekong Institute MI, Khon Kaen Thailand

Mekong Institute (MI) is an intergovernmental organization owned and operated by the six Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) countries it serves, with a mission to provide capacity development services and products that enhance regional development, cooperation and integration. To respond to changes and evolving needs in the GMS, MI currently prioritizes the regional integration of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam workforces for more equitable and inclusive economic growth. Further, MI is expanding its traditional portfolio to position itself as a GMS-based knowledge-center of excellence with increased institutional capacity for policy research and other services related to economic integration and development disparities. 
Program Assistant, Agricultural Development and Commercialization (ADC) Department
We are seeking a Program Assistant for Agricultural Development and Commercialization (ADC) Department under the general direction of the Director of ADC. The position is based at the Mekong Institute, located on Khon Kaen University campus, Northeast Thailand. Khon Kaen, a growing city, is the commerce and political center of Northeastern Thailand and an important gateway to other GMS countries.
Position description
Program Assistant is responsible for logistical and administrative support, budget estimates, and liaison between the Program Department and Projects, and with the MI Finance and Administration Units, and other Departments as necessary.
Main deliverables, responsibilities and tasks

Key deliverables
  • Effective administration based on good liaison with MI’s Administration and Finance Units and other departments
  • Smooth coordination of logistics and support arrangements for capacity development activities
Main responsibilities and tasks
  • Disseminate internally key information about program activities
  • Photocopy and distribute capacity development materials and documents
  • Prepare office supplies and stationary for participants and resource persons
  • Arrange transport, accommodation and meals for all program and project activities, meetings and field trips
  • Arrange facilities for events – meeting room, equipment, materials, etc.
  • Coordinate with Procurement Unit for purchasing of banners, office supplies and other materials
  • Prepare TA and travel arrangements
  • Assist with preparation of budget estimates for program and project activities
  • Request cash advances for upcoming activities. Disburse, record and account for petty cash expenditure in accordance with MI procedures 
  • Draft and type correspondence and reports and develop formats as necessary
  • Liaise with MI Finance and Administration Departments for all program and project matters
  • Any other reasonable task requested by management
Required qualifications, skills and experience

Essential
  • Bachelor degree in management, administration or program relevant subject
  • Knowledge of Khon Kaen including available facilities, suppliers and venues
  • Proven experience in one or more the following areas: general administration, logistical arrangements for workshops and seminars, preparation of budget estimates, and bookkeeping
  • Proven experience in activity support functions
  • Proven ability to communicate in Thai and English languages in written and spoken form
  • Good negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team and coordinate with others
  • Proficient user of all Microsoft Office applications, office equipment and communications equipment
Desirable
  • Skills in any of the languages of the GMS region
